Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships: National small business category 2007

HarbourKeepers are delighted to have won the National Small Business category of the Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships, with Plunge Diving. This award recognises the crucial partnership HarbourKeepers formed with Plunge Diving to enable the Fish Survey program to grow. The National Award builds on the NSW category of the award that we won in August 2007.

We are delighted that Plunge Diving have been recognised for their contribution to the HarbourKeepers Fish Survey. As a non-profit initiative working to protect the marine environment we strongly rely on support from the business world to support our activities. Through Plunge's support the HarbourKeepers Fish Survey has become accessible to many more divers.

Prime Minister's Award for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships: NSW small business category - August 2007

HarbourKeepers and Plunge Diving, Mosman are delighted to have received the Prime Ministers Award for Excellence in Community Business Partnerships in NSW. This award recognises the importance of the role that Plunge Diving have played in the success of the HarbourKeepers program of conservation activities in Sydney Harbour.

Plunge Diving's concern for the marine environment led them to become HarbourKeepers Primary Dive Supporter in June 2006. Since then they have been quietly supporting HarbourKeepers with our diving activities. Plunge Diving has provided free dive equipment for Fish Survey training, organised underwater clean ups and provided expert advice and a venue for promotion activities.

HarbourKeepers is delighted that Plunge Diving's contribution to the HarbourKeepers marine conservation program has been recognised through this award.

Community Business Partnerships are a vital component of the HarbourKeepers & CoastKeepers programs. They provide businesses with a means to accept their corporate social responsibility and provide invaluable resources in our fight for marine and coastal conservation.

Sydney Harbour Week Award for the Environment - March 2007

HarbourKeepers was delighted to be announced the winner of the environmental category of the Sydney Harbour Week Awards in March 2007. HarbourKeepers was recognised for its outstanding contribution to protecting and conserving the environment of Sydney Harbour.

The award was presented to Andrew Cox, Executive Officer of the National Parks Association of NSW, by Chris Oxenbould AO, Chief Executive of NSW Maritime and Ian Kiernan AO, Chairman of Clean Up Australia and Chairman of the Sydney Harbour Week Awards.

This award is recognition of all the hard work of our volunteers. Our dedicated team of volunteers work at locations all around Sydney Harbour to improve the environment or gather data to improve environmental management.

HarbourKeepers is successful thanks to our volunteers and so when HarbourKeepers wins an award it is our volunteers who are being recognised. Congratulations to all HarbourKeepers volunteers for winning this award!!!
