Fish Identification Slates

It is now possible to buy the Fish Identification slates used by HarbourKeepers and CoastKeepers Fish Surveyors. Until now these slates have only been available to people completing Fish Survey training.

The slates comprise a set of two high quality underwater fish identification slates featuring pictures of 50 marine fish found in NSW. Species include sharks, rays, seahorses, seadragons, eels and fish of all shapes and sizes. See the Fish Gallery pages for a list of all species included.

The Fish Survey dive slates are perfect for beginner and advanced divers and snorkellers who want to improve their fish identification skills. They also make an excellent learning tool for dive instructors and marine biology educators.

To purchase a set of Fish Identification Slates visit the NPA Online Shop and look in "Books/Manuals" or contact Dave info@coastkeepers.org.au (02) 9299 0000.

All proceeds from the sale of Fish Identification Slates will fund marine conservation projects in NSW. CoastKeepers thanks the photographers who have kindly donated their pictures to the Fish Survey project: David and Leanne Atkinson, Kathryn Chesnut, Lynda Clarke, Tim Hochgrebe, Eric Schlögl, Sacha Schulz, Mike Scotland and Ian Shaw.

The fish featured on the Fish Identification Slates are the target species of the HarbourKeepers & CoastKeepers Fish Survey, a statewide survey of the distribution and frequency of 50 marine fish found in NSW. Read more about Fish Surveys here.
